Role Overview:



The NHS Trust is seeking a

Locum Registrar

in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to join the team

immediately

. The role involves providing high-quality medical care and support in obstetric and gynaecological services, including both inpatient and outpatient care.

Key Responsibilities:



Clinical Duties:

Assess, diagnose, and manage patients in both obstetrics and gynaecology, including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care. Perform clinical procedures under consultant supervision and independently as appropriate. Manage gynaecological conditions, both acute and elective cases. Participate in ward rounds, clinics, and theatre duties. Provide emergency care for obstetric and gynaecological patients.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration:

Work alongside consultants, nurses, midwives, and other healthcare professionals. Attend and contribute to multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and case discussions.

Supervision & Teaching:

Supervise and support junior doctors, medical students, and nursing staff as required. Participate in educational and training activities within the department.

On-Call Duties:

Be available for on-call duties as per the rota, providing out-of-hours clinical cover for obstetrics and gynaecology.

Essential Criteria:



Qualifications:

CEL (Clinical Excellence Level)

training completed or proof of completion.

MRCOG (Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists)

or equivalent specialist qualification in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Full GMC registration with a valid licence to practice.

Experience:

Previous experience as a Senior House Officer (SHO) or Registrar in Obstetrics & Gynaecology within an NHS Trust or equivalent healthcare system. Ability to work confidently in an acute clinical environment and manage a broad range of obstetric and gynaecological conditions.

Skills & Attributes:

Strong clinical and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team and independently. Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and quality care.

Desirable Criteria:



Previous experience in a locum role or flexibility to adapt quickly to different hospital settings. Evidence of participation in quality improvement and audit activities.

Start Date:



ASAP (Immediate start required)
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: 60.00-85.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 - 50 per week
