Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide safe, effective, and high-quality clinical care under consultant supervision.
Manage inpatients, outpatients, and emergency referrals within the specialty.
Participate in on-call rotas as required.
Undertake ward rounds, admissions, discharges, and patient reviews.
Perform and interpret relevant clinical investigations.
Maintain accurate and timely patient records.
Contribute to clinical governance, audit, teaching, and service development.
Ensure compliance with NHS Trust policies, GMC guidance, and safeguarding responsibilities.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Essential:
Primary Medical Qualification (e.g., MBBS, MBChB, or equivalent).
Full GMC Registration with Licence to Practise.
At least
4 years post-graduation experience
, with
minimum 2 years in the relevant specialty
.
Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
Competence in basic life support (BLS) and advanced life support (ALS) (depending on specialty).
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills.
Desirable:
Membership of relevant Royal College (e.g., MRCP, MRCS, MRCPsych, MRCOG, FRCA).
Previous NHS experience at Specialty Doctor, Registrar, or equivalent level.
Experience in audit, teaching, and quality improvement.
Additional specialty certifications (ATLS, APLS, PALS, NLS depending on specialty).
Evidence of leadership and service development contribution.
Compliance Requirements (Agency Locum):
Valid Right to Work in the UK.
Enhanced DBS clearance.
Occupational Health clearance (immunisation history including Hep B, TB, MMR, Varicella, COVID-19).
Up-to-date mandatory training (Fire Safety, Manual Handling, Safeguarding, Infection Control, Equality & Diversity, Information Governance).
References covering the last 3 years of employment.
Working Pattern:
Full-time / part-time depending on rota.
Shift patterns may include days, nights, weekends, and on-calls.
Salary & Rates:
As per NHS Specialty Doctor pay scales (or agency-agreed locum rates, depending on contract and IR35 status).

Pay: 60.00-85.00 per hour
Expected hours: 45 - 50 per week
