Based in Chorley, the Equipment & Ancillaries Team provide a global service tailored to our customer's individual needs whereby we will source and supply medical and laboratory equipment to support them in conducting their clinical trials. Wherever they are in the world, wherever their study is taking place, we deliver the right equipment, at the right time, in the most effective way possible.

What we are looking for:



As a Logistics Administrator, you will be primarily responsible for tracking and tracing parcels that are in transit to destinations all over the world. You will be incredibly organised, a great communicator and have a strong attention to detail. You will use critical thinking, logic combined with a persuasive approach, to resolve issues associated with carrier failures, customs clearance and other factors that may impact smooth delivery to our customer sites.

What you will be doing for us:



Track and expedite all shipments on a daily basis and working to resolve any delays with Carriers, Freight Forwarders and Customs etc.

Communicate with key stakeholders providing updates on delays and requesting information to expedite shipments.

Update the system with all tracking details and save the Proof of Delivery for future reference.

Responsible for producing accurate and timely reports to support customer and business needs.

Carry out invoice verification for all shipments, ensuring that the Invoice value matches the standard or the cost quoted.

Responsible for maintaining an accurate electronic and manual filing system in relation to all Dispatch Documentation in line with requirements for HMRC audit.

Manage shared mailboxes in line with requirements ensuring timely and accurate responses and ensuring the mailbox is accurately categorised and filed appropriately.

Complete other ad-hoc duties and provide general administrative support to the Distribution & Warehousing Team.

What level of skill, competence & experience does someone need in order to do this job effectively?



To do this job well, it is essential that the employee has:



Three years + experience gained within a highly customer focused industry.

Excellent communication skills - written and oral, with the ability to apply pressure to stakeholders in order to resolve issues.

Excellent organisation skills and is able to document, handle, prioritise and deal with a high volume of work.

Excellent IT skills to intermediate level with Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel & Outlook.

The ability to work proactively and drive others to achieve results.

Strong attention to detail and a tenacity to be accurate.

A good standard of education ideally to A level standard as a minimum.

It would also be a great advantage if the employee:



Has worked in an international Logistics environment.

Has good understanding of the shipping process, ideally working with couriers and shipping agents.

Holds vocational logistics / export qualifications.

Proven experience in a customer facing role with strong customer service values.

Is fluent in a second or third language.
