Operations Manager - Contents & Restoration
Permanent, Monday to Friday 8-5pm
Salary: 48,000
Location: Mansfield
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (1-hour unpaid lunch)
Type: Full-time | Permanent
About the Role:
We are working with a well-established damage restoration and property services business to recruit an experienced Operations Manager - Contents & Restoration.
This is a leadership role with full ownership of the company's contents division, managing people, processes, systems, and service delivery following property damage incidents such as flood, fire, damp, or mould. You'll be responsible for ensuring customers' belongings are handled, tracked, restored, stored, or disposed of correctly - while leading a large operational team and maintaining high service and compliance standards.
The Team & Scope:
Full responsibility for a division of 21 staff, split across three departments:
External Contents Teams (site-based removal and packing)
Internal Contents Teams (receiving, cleaning, triage, listing, and storage)
Contents Handlers & Admin Support
Ownership of day-to-day operations, performance, conduct, and service quality
Nationwide operational remit with occasional site visits and spot checks
Assisting with queries, and handling any complaints
Investigating and referring cases
Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage, and develop multiple teams across internal and external operations
Take ownership of the entire contents operation, setting standards and driving accountability
Oversee administrative processes to ensure accurate tracking of all contents, jobs, and claims
Ensure every item is correctly logged, handled, restored, stored, or returned using tracking systems
Investigate operational issues, complaints, damages, or discrepancies and resolve effectively
Conduct 1:1s, performance management, and disciplinaries where required
Work with internal stakeholders to maintain accurate system updates (Excel, Salesforce, Dolly)
Carry out site visits and quality spot checks using a company vehicle
Ensure customers' belongings are handled safely, respectfully, and in line with company procedures
Continuously improve processes to reduce errors, losses, and service failures
Ideal Background
Proven experience in operations management, ideally within:
Construction
Property services
Facilities management
Restoration
Logistics or service delivery
Strong people management experience, including managing large teams
Confident handling performance issues, investigations, and customer complaints
Organised, structured, and process-driven
Comfortable with site-based work as well as office-based leadership
Strong systems and Excel capability
