Bowland Ecology is CIEEM's Medium Sized Practice of the year 2025-2026 and a well-established and thriving ecological consultancy.
A new hybrid role has arisen due to staff progression. We seek an experienced Office Administrator for one day per week (Mondays) who will also support our Logistics Co-ordinator for the remainder of their hours. We envisage this role requiring 22.5 hours per week in total.
The successful candidate will be required to work from our Head Office in Clitheroe on Mondays, but there is flexibility to work from home and define the hours worked for the remainder.

Scope of the role:
s
Assisting with assigning jobs to staff and booking in time (surveying and reporting)
Co-managing the Survey Calendar
Liaising with staff and clients regarding schedules
Arranging site access/ creating health and safety documents
Working with Technical Support Officer to organise equipment/ data review/ sound analysis
Dealing with incoming calls, general emails and post. Responding professionally to all enquiries
Ordering equipment and stationery and maintaining related systems
HR support including managing annual leave requests, booking training and updating relevant systems/databases
Booking accommodation and hire cars
Ensuring fleet of company cars is compliant with legislation; organising repairs/servicing
Setting up and maintaining project files
Managing office cleanliness and health and safety. This includes accident reporting and lone working
Providing basic IT support to the Ecology team
Managing repairs to, or disposal of, faulty equipment
Ensuring that Bowland Ecology's commitment to continuous improvement and minimising our impact on the environment is fulfilled (ISO 9001 and 14001)
Successful Candidates will have:
Experience of working in an administrative role (E)
Knowledge of different ecology survey types (D)
Experience of working to the requirements of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 (D)
Knowledge of basic health and safety legislation (D)
Skills:
Highly proficient in the use of MS Office (E)
Confident and friendly phone manner (E)
Understanding of basic IT troubleshooting techniques (E)
