Role purpose:
A site-based support role within the GSA logistics function, assisting the Logistics Manager in the coordination of deliveries, storage, and site attendances.
The Logistics Assistant works closely with site teams and the CWA (Civils Works Alliance) to manage bookings and plan scheduled deliveries, ensuring smooth and safe logistical operations across geotechnical sites.
This role contributes to the efficient execution of the logistics programme and supports compliance with project requirements and parent company procedures.
What you'll be doing
Assist the Logistics Manager in routing deliveries to appropriate site locations
Coordinate with site teams to arrange storage areas and delivery attendances
Manage booking requests and scheduled deliveries in collaboration with the CWA team
Maintain delivery records and ensure documentation is complete and compliant
Attend site logistics meetings and contribute to planning discussions
Liaise with suppliers and delivery drivers to confirm access arrangements and timings
Monitor delivery performance and report issues or delays to the Logistics Manager
Support the implementation of logistics plans and traffic management strategies
Ensure all logistics activities comply with health, safety, and environmental standards
Maintain accurate records in line with parent company policies and procedures
Assist in the development of improved logistics workflows and digital tracking systems
Promote a safety-first culture and support continuous improvement in logistics operations
Ensure documentation is stored efficiently and accessible for audits and inspections
Adhere to GDPR in the handling and storage of personal and operational data
Who we're looking for
Experience in logistics coordination or site support within construction or infrastructure projects
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with site teams, suppliers, and access control teams
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and logistics tracking systems
Understanding of delivery scheduling, access planning, and site logistics workflows
Ability to work collaboratively with site teams and external partners
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and lift planning software
