9am to 6pm Monday to Friday

I am delighted to be working in partnership with a rapidly growing 4PL logistics company. Due to this expansion, my client is looking to recruit an experienced Logistics Planner.
The purpose of this critical role within the business is to build sound and longstanding relationships with 3PL's and negotiate rates and contracts.
The Role:
As a Logistics Planner you will be liaising with customers and hauliers to negotiate the best rates for the business, handle customer queries, upselling to existing customers and possibly bringing on new business.
This is a fast-paced environment, using ManData, Microsoft word and excel to input and extract information.
Communicating with hauliers and customers over the telephone, so excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential to this role.
You will be required to work on a rota'd out of hours on call - working 1 week out of 6.
The Person:
You will have a min of 1 yrs experience within a transport planning or supervisory role. Be a great communicator, confident negotiator, and be able to work well under pressure. you will have a proven record of working within a targeted environment - hitting and exceeding KPI's. You will have a good team ethic as well as being a highly driven and motivated individual for business growth and succession. It is essential that you have knowledge of subcontracting, transport costs, haulage, and legislation as well as good commercial awareness to understand what makes a business successful. You must be IT literate with experience using Microsoft Suite and Excel.
