We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a

Logistics Chargehand

at Hinkley Point C. Working within dedicated teams, as a construction Logistics Chargehand. You will be supervising and supporting with a variety of tasks including the following:


Housekeeping General receipt of items Stock Control Fire signage Moving material from Buildings to various compounds providing general support to various contractors on Hinkley Point C

Salary:

23.28 per hour. Hours worked over 9.75 per day will be paid at an overtime rate
Enhanced rate of pay for unsociable hours

Depending on the team, your key responsibilities will include:




Supervising a team of logistics operatives Completing daily briefings before work starts, and ensuring all operatives understand their daily tasks and are aware of any new hazards within their work areas To inform all operatives of any changes related to site duties or site requirements - sign off POWRA where required Supervising housekeeping, maneuvering of materials from the off-loading point to the Work areas, waste segregation, and removal of waste. Supervising the management/recording/replenishing/maintenance of all fire points, consumables and signage within the building Ensuring photo evidence is taken of 100% of materials delivered to the work areas and then given to the fleet team supervisor before the end of each shift Ensure a signature is obtained from a supervisor/manager on each delivery note for each delivery; completed delivery notes must be hand over the fleet supervisor before the end of each shift During cold and freezing temperatures, supervise the logistics winterisation processes and procedures in the HR building areas To ensure the completion of daily checks-sheets, report any defects to the manager and keep records for audit and data recording purposes. Deliver familiarisation/competency training and keep records for audit/data recording purposes. Ensure all plant/equipment are maintained and keep records for audit and data recording purposes. Supervise the cleaning of spills on site including biohazard Ensure plant/equipment are fit for use and secure if not in use. Give Toolbox talks to operatives on a weekly basis and keep records Coordinate and implement fire and emergency arrangements throughout the building

What do we need from you:




Skills, Experience and Qualifications





Essential


A CITB Supervisor H&S test (to be completed before the start date). SSSTS (or working towards) Warehouse or construction experience Previous Supervisory Experience Basic IT Skills Demonstrate the ability to think and act quickly in emergencies or under pressure Provide evidence of the ability to deliver succinct and clear verbal and provide written reports where necessary

Desirable


Experience of working within the construction Industry Driving Licence Knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical Tooling and consumables Understanding logistics limitations and regulation Ability to read fire and emergency plans

Site Specific Information:




You must be able to provide a 3-year work history and required vetting process in line with HPC protocols. You must be able to obtain the HPC pass. * The site is located remotely and a bus journey of 45 minutes each way is required to gain access
