We're working with a leading name in global logistics who are expanding their operations team in Hull. They're now seeking a Logistics Coordinator to support the smooth, efficient running of day-to-day transport operations across Europe. This is a key role within a fast paced, customer focused environment and would be perfect for someone who thrives on coordination, communication, and problem solving.
The Role
As a Logistics Coordinator, you'll play a vital part in ensuring all deliveries and collections are managed efficiently and accurately. You'll be the link between customers, suppliers, and internal teams, helping maintain service excellence and operational control.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain clear and consistent communication across internal departments and external partners to meet delivery and loading times
Proactively address operational issues, ensuring all updates are logged and communicated promptly
Input and update booking details accurately in the internal system
Monitor all transits and report any delays, anomalies, or non shipments for appropriate action
Reserve space and schedule transport requirements in advance with suppliers to maximise efficiency
Work closely with Customer Services to keep them fully informed and propose solutions where schedules change
Support trial loads and specialist shipments, coordinating with relevant teams
Monitor volume fluctuations and plan accordingly
Oversee customs communication and ensure compliance with procedures
Maintain on time delivery (OTD) targets and monitor empty stock levels to avoid storage costs
Complete all administrative tasks for the previous day's operations by midday
Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency on high cost routes or storage locations
Uphold safe working practices and promote environmental and ethical standards across operations
About You
We're looking for someone organised, adaptable, energetic and proactive, with a genuine passion for logistics and service excellence.
Skills & Experience:
Previous experience in a transport or logistics operations role (continental or international preferred)
Knowledge of customs legislation and documentation
Strong planning, organisational and administrative abilities
Excellent communication skills - confident liaising across departments and with external partners
A calm and methodical approach under pressure, with the ability to prioritise effectively
Keen attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards
IT literate, with the ability to learn new systems quickly (experience using transport management systems is advantageous)
A collaborative team player with a problem solving mindset and a positive attitude
