In 2025, the CTS Microbiology Laboratory has firmly established a strong presence in the market and we are now seeking to employ an exceptional candidate who wishes to expand their career by joining Construction Testing Solutions at a very exciting time within our growth plans.
Role
The successful candidate will be supporting the night-time logistics operations at CTS. Reporting to the Team Leader this role will include but not be limited to the following daily tasks:
Check in with all drivers prior to starting as well as maintaining contact during the evening
Ensure vehicle checks are completed daily and escalate reports of vehicle defects
Schedule vehicle maintenance and servicing bookings
Provide point of contact for drivers and troubleshoot issues encountered during the shift
Arrange & schedule sample container deliveries
Review and update the collection/delivery schedules to support client requests
Upload collection & delivery requests onto the Labtrac software application
Provide emergency driving cover (completing the collection routes as/when required)
Perform other reasonable duties to support the logistics operations.
Qualifications & Experience
Very good oral, written and numeracy skills
GCSE grade C or above in maths and English language (or equivalent)
Highly Computer literate (MS Office Applications)
Previous work experience within logistics role would be advantageous but not essential

CTS and our range of independent UKAS accredited laboratories provide on-site testing and laboratory services to the construction, quarry products and civil engineering industries across the whole of the UK.
Our purpose-built laboratories are fully equipped to test the mechanical, physical and chemical properties of soils, aggregates, concrete and bituminous materials as well as other construction materials and products.
Our highly-trained technicians and engineers either visit sites and take representative samples for subsequent laboratory testing, or conduct in-situ field tests.
