We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join a premier team of Managers at the 100th Logistics Readiness Squadron, Royal Air Force (RAF) Mildenhall, United Kingdom.

What will be your primary role?



As Logistics Manager for the 100th Logistics Readiness Squadron (LRS), you will be the principal advisor to the Squadron Commander on all logistics readiness matters, overseeing the squadron's ability to support base readiness and providing comprehensive logistics support to three wings across 10 geographically separated units in the United Kingdom, Norway, and Greece. This leadership role encompasses analyzing logistics contingency readiness programs and plans, long-term capability planning, and oversight of 105 authorized civilian positions. You will supervise Quality Assurance, Functional Systems Management, Facility Management, Resource Management, and Squadron Training offices. Further, you will act as the squadron's liaison to the Host Nation Coordination Cell, ensuring compliance with local laws, EU regulations, NATO guidance, and international agreements. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, and overseeing the activities of the 100 LRS, providing business process and performance improvement advice, exercising supervisory personnel management, and leading technical studies related to critical logistics functions such as cargo movement, supply chain management, vehicle maintenance, and deployment operations. You will also represent the installation and squadron at higher-level meetings and conferences with various agencies and organizations. As the squadron senior technical advisor on logistics readiness issues, you will provide technical advice and assistance on development and implementation of readiness mission capabilities associated with: critical cargo and passenger movement, supply chain management, equipment and vehicles, vehicle maintenance, warehousing, deployment/reception and deliberate planning and operations, global fuels and cryogenics, policies and procedures.

What are the Key Skills required for this role?



1. Knowledge of a wide range of agency logistics concepts, principles, practices, procedures, and regulations applicable to a full range of logistics management to include cargo and passenger movement, supply chain management, equipment and vehicles management, vehicle maintenance, warehousing, deployment planning and operations, personal property movement, global fuels and cryogenics, Quality Assurance, and logistic plans under peacetime and wartime conditions to develop and recommend policies and procedures for the squadron.

2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.

3. Skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations and in formulating solutions to complex problems.

4. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate and apprise the staff of an organization.

5. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of subordinate installations/organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.

6. Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy.

What are the conditions of employment for this role?



1. You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules and regulations.

2. You may be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft and you may also be required to travel to the US or other country, in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training, this position may also be coded as mission essential.

3. You will be required to complete a 6-month probationary period

4. Overtime may be required, and you may be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the incumbent.

5. You must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

6. You may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.

7. You may be required to facilitate an on-call function over a 24-hour period covering 7 days a week as per the manning roster. For every calendar day of the year, one member of this roster will be designated as being on-call and the designee must be available on a standby basis. On-call status requires the designee to: be in good health on their on-call days and be able to perform their job responsibilities on short notice; refrain from activities that impair their ability to perform job duties; be in a position to provide an initial response by telephone within 10 minutes of being called; remain within a 45-minute commuting radius from the installation; keep the necessary transportation and telecommunication available to respond. On-call allowance is activated only during the period of time the employee is performing the function of the on-call responsibilities. On-call allowance is not payable during periods of leave, sick absence, or when employee is not rostered.

8. The work requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, UK valid driver's license is required for the position (Category B)

9. This is a Mission Essential position performing a Mission Critical Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions.

10. Employee must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance; UK NATO Clearance is required.

11. The Local National Direct Hire (LNDH) Program does not participate in regular drug testing, however positions covered by this document may be subject to drug testing upon reasonable suspicion of substance abuse, and safety mishap or accident testing.

12. Your hours of work will be Fixed; Mon-Fri - 0730-1630, where start & end times may be modified due to mission needs and in accordance with the organization's flexible working policies.
