The Role

We're seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to oversee and optimize our end-to-end logistics operations. This is a crucial role ensuring the seamless flow of raw materials inbound and finished products outbound, maintaining our commitment to food safety, quality, and customer service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, manage and coordinate all logistics operations including inbound raw materials and outbound finished goods Oversee warehousing, inventory management, and stock control for chilled and frozen products Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, hauliers, and transport companies Ensure compliance with food safety standards, temperature control requirements, and cold chain integrity Develop and monitor KPIs for on-time delivery, transport costs, and inventory accuracy Lead and develop the logistics team, including warehouse and dispatch personnel Optimise transport schedules and routes to maximise efficiency and minimise costs Coordinate with production, planning, and sales teams to ensure smooth operations Manage logistics budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities Ensure health and safety compliance across all logistics activities

Essential Requirements

Proven experience in a logistics management role, ideally within food manufacturing Strong understanding of chilled and frozen supply chain requirements Experience managing warehouse operations and transport coordination Knowledge of food safety standards and compliance (HACCP, BRC advantageous) Excellent organisational and planning skills with ability to manage multiple priorities Strong leadership and people management capabilities Proficiency in inventory management systems and Microsoft Excel Full UK driving licence
Desirable Requirements

Experience in ready meal or FMCG manufacturing environment FLT licence or warehouse management certifications Knowledge of SALSA, BRC, or other food safety accreditations Understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles
