Overview


We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Logistics Manager to oversee and optimise our supply chain operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities to ensure seamless flow of goods. Responsibilities



Develop, implement, and manage category management strategies to optimise procurement and inventory levels. Oversee transportation management systems (TMS) to coordinate shipping, receiving, and delivery schedules efficiently. Utilise warehouse management systems (WMS) to monitor stock levels, optimise storage, and streamline picking & packing processes. Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to ensure service quality and cost-effectiveness. Coordinate shipping & receiving activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards and delivery deadlines. Analyse data using ERP systems such as AS400 to identify process improvement opportunities across the supply chain. Lead process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing materials handling, warehouse operations, and overall logistics performance. Supervise warehouse staff, including forklift operators, ensuring safe handling of materials and efficient workflow. Monitor supply chain performance metrics, preparing reports for senior management to support strategic decision-making. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within warehouse environments and during transportation activities.

Requirements



Proven experience in logistics management within a warehouse or distribution centre environment. Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, category management, and process optimisation techniques. Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms such as AS400, and data analysis tools. Hands-on experience with materials handling equipment including forklifts; relevant certifications are desirable. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets for operational improvements. Effective leadership capabilities with experience supervising teams involved in picking & packing, shipping & receiving, and materials handling. Knowledge of 3PL operations and shipping regulations within the UK logistics sector is advantageous.
