Logistics Manager

to join their operations team.

The Role:

This is a

hands-on but highly rewarding role

that combines strategic oversight with day-to-day operational involvement. You will take full responsibility for overseeing all yard operations and logistics activities to ensure the efficient and timely movement of goods. This is a pivotal role that requires a proactive mindset, strong leadership, and a passion for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and optimise all yard layouts and traffic flow to maximise operational efficiency. Plan and coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring timely delivery and cost control. Collaborate with transport providers and internal teams to maintain seamless logistics operations. Manage parts preparation activities in line with production and maintenance schedules. Lead and develop a team of logistics professionals, including forklift operators and logistics coordinators. Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards and conduct relevant investigations where required.
The Ideal Candidate:

Proven experience in logistics planning and yard management within a fast-paced industrial or manufacturing setting. Demonstrated success in leading teams of 6+ staff, including shift leaders or chargehands. A hands-on leader with strong organisational and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with Sage 200 and the Microsoft Office Suite. Health and safety qualifications such as IOSH 'Managing Safely' (or willingness to achieve this with training).
