The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end supply chain, ensuring efficient transportation and warehousing, and driving continuous process improvements. This role requires a strategic thinker with proven expertise in logistics and supply chain management, capable of delivering operational excellence in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics Strategy
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimise supply chain efficiency and reduce costs.
Category Management
- Manage procurement and inventory control processes to maintain optimal stock levels and minimise waste.
Transportation Management
- Oversee transport planning and management systems to ensure timely delivery of goods to customers and sites.
Warehouse Operations
- Utilise warehouse management systems (WMS) to streamline operations, maximise space utilisation, and improve productivity.
3PL Coordination
- Manage third-party logistics (3PL) providers, ensuring service level agreements are met for shipping and receiving activities.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all logistics and materials handling operations meet health, safety, and compliance requirements.
Data & Forecasting
- Conduct analysis to identify trends, forecast demand, and enhance operational decision-making.
Inventory Control
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and warehouse activity.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with production, sales, and finance teams to align logistics with overall business objectives.
Required Skills & Experience
Proficiency in category management and process improvement methodologies.
Hands-on experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS).
Working knowledge of ERP systems.
Strong understanding of logistics principles, supply chain dynamics, and materials handling.
Warehouse experience and familiarity with forklift operations (preferred).
Advanced data analysis skills to support strategic decisions.
Proven ability to manage shipping, receiving, and inventory functions effectively.
Strong organisational skills with a high attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills for liaising with suppliers, clients, and internal teams.
