Principal Purpose



The Logistics Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the site logistics/warehouse function, supporting distribution and manufacturing as required.

Through the application of lean sigma principles, the role will drive continuous improvement to warehouse productivity, inventory accuracy and distribution efficiencies.

/Principal Elements



Effectively lead a team of warehouse operatives to achieve set output targets and quality standards in terms of warehouse productivity, accuracy, quality and reporting of problems/issues.

Manage the day-to-day activities of the logistics/warehouse function including feeding production lines, receipt/quality checks of goods in and loading of daily dispatches. Maximising single drop and multi load despatches. Prioritising customer demand. (OTD) Manage picking lists and handling units in a timely manner to coincide with the loading schedule. Developing and managing processes to maximise efficiencies. A goal to automate the system Manage the day-to-day inventory dashboard transactions, and ensure all data is recorded accurately within the database (Epicor). Prepare monthly stock takes and investigate any anomalies. Develop the warehouse team identify areas for improvement and highlight training requirements, including cross training through a skills matrix. Minimise overstocks and removal of obsolete material. Demonstrate a high level of communication skills, including team motivation, multitasking and problem-solving skills. Review and revise warehouse COSHH and risk assessments. Housekeeping and presentation of site. Lead by example by always maintaining a high degree of professionalism and integrity. Improve inventory accuracy. Reduce picking errors. Implement cyclic stock checks. Develop a pick & pack operation with location control Implement skills matrix and training schedule. Assist the UK Warehouse Distribution Manager with any project implementation where required. Process management

Experience, attributes and Education



Lean Sigma. Strong leadership skills. Be a leader as well as a team player. Warehouse experience including lot and location control. Handle operational issues in a professional manner. ERP/MRP experience, and how inventory impacts the wider organisation including bills of materials. Counterbalance FLT certificate.
