Logistics Manager
to join our team and oversee the efficient running of supply chain operations in our African grocery and retail store.
As a Logistics Manager, you will play a key role in managing the flow of goods from suppliers to our shop floor, ensuring product availability, quality, and timely delivery--particularly traditional African food items and essentials.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor stock levels of African and general grocery products, ensuring timely restocking to meet customer demand.
Source and maintain strong working relationships with local and international suppliers of African goods.
Negotiate prices, delivery terms, and supplier agreements to ensure value for money and consistent quality.
Track inventory movement, deliveries, and storage using manual systems or inventory software.
Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and storage regulations.
Oversee the unloading and stocking of goods in the store and storage areas.
Inspect incoming deliveries for accuracy and quality; manage returns and replacements where necessary.
Work closely with shop managers and sales staff to forecast demand and plan restocking accordingly.
Identify opportunities to improve logistics efficiency and reduce waste or cost.
Maintain accurate inventory records and prepare regular stock and logistics reports.
Requirements:
A degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
A minimum of 2-3 years' experience in logistics, stock control, or supply chain roles--preferably within a retail or grocery setting.
Good knowledge of African food products and supplier networks is highly desirable.
Excellent organisational, negotiation, and communication skills.
Proficient in inventory systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Able to prioritise tasks, manage time effectively, and work well under pressure.
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
