Overview


Celtic Renewables are widely regarded as one of the most innovative Biotech companies in Europe, having developed technology patent(s) for the conversion of biological residues into sustainable green chemicals. The process is an inspirational reinvention of a century old process known as the Acetone-Butanol-Ethanol (ABE) fermentation, in order to bring this age-old fermentation back to the global scale. The green chemicals produced by this innovative process are highly sought after across a range of industries - from cosmetics, food flavourings, hygiene, pharmaceuticals through to use for biofuels. The company has completed construction and is now operating the state-of-the-art processing plant in Grangemouth, a historical exemplar plant for Scotland, and are currently producing ABE at a commercial scale. This first commercial plant is the launching pad for our ambitious domestic / international growth plans. The Grangemouth facility is the exemplar to building larger scale facilities across the UK and internationally.

As the Logistics Operator for the site you will play a key role for the safe, efficient and reliable operation for the Celtic Renewables Caledon Green Biorefinery.

As a key member of the operations team, you will work collaboratively with your operations colleagues, and also the wider functional teams to ensure that Caledon Green runs as efficiently as possible.

You will be key a contributor to the enhancement of the potential of the Company, maximising Shareholder returns through the global deployment of its patented process, and helping to ensure that CRL is recognised as the leader in the development of the ABE fermentation process at commercial scale.

Work Scope



Working a Mon-Fri day based hours, this is a hands-on role that will cover a wide variety of tasks, from vehicle logistics and off-loading and undertaking routine compliance checks. Reporting to the Supply Chain and Procurement Lead, you will work as part of the operations team to ensure smooth day to day operation of the incoming and outgoing logistics, and maximise the uptime of the Caledon Green Biorefinery. You will work closely with the process operators team to manage the effluent offloading. You will identify and implement various plant improvements covering health and safety, quality, reliability, throughput, and cost reduction. Some flexibility may be required for covering occasional weekend or out of hours which will be paid at overtime rate.

Responsibilities



A key part of the role is working closely with the Process Operators to ensure raw materials and finished goods are safely and efficiently unloaded/loaded on site and any vehicle logistic bottlenecks are minimised. You will operate the effluent tanks in conjunction with the Process Operator to ensure the day to day operation of the plant runs smoothly and efficiently. Receiving inbound deliveries to site, including overseeing chemical offloads. Organising delivery paperwork for outbound deliveries. Executing the delivery and dispatch plan set by the Supply Chain & Procurement Lead. Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment. General housekeeping of the yard area and effluent bunds Conducting site inductions when required. Manage the chemical inventory and effluent dispatch records. Contributing to the overall health and safety culture at the manufacturing site. You will support the with the planned preventative maintenance, carrying out routine inspections and checks. Support with root cause analysis completion for any non-conformances. You will update and/or create documentation where applicable to continually improve consistency and standards on site.

Required Skills & Experience



Experience in a similar role or have relevant transferrable skills from another industry/background. Ideally relevant manufacturing/technical/operations background. Fluent in English both written and verbal. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. A good level of high school education. Computer literate, experience working with office packages and P2P systems. Practical hands-on experience of loading and unloading vehicles. A technical mindset and ability to prioritise and manage a number of tasks. Hands-on practical experience of plant and equipment. Forklift operation. Be within commutable distance to the site (FK3 8TR) or willing to relocate for the vacancy.

Desirable Skills & Experience



SCADA experience would be beneficial. Qualified banksman. Forklift licence. Experience working with bulk tankers. Experience working in a chemical manufacturing facility. Health and Safety qualifications (IOSH, NEBOSH etc.). Understanding of instrumentation and control including flow, level, pressure, temperature, and process analysis. You will ideally have knowledge and hands-on experience of pumps (positive displacement and centrifugal), heat exchangers (plate, and shell & tube), valves, agitators, conveyors, steam systems and compressed air. Strong fault finding and troubleshooting skills in a technical scenario. Strong communication skills. Full UK Driving Licence

Pay: 30,000.00-32,000.00 per year
