We are seeking a proactive and reliable Logistics Operative to join our team at Canary Wharf.

This role is integral to ensuring the smooth operation of mail services, porterage, and logistics support within a dynamic corporate environment. You will play a key part in delivering a high-quality, efficient service to internal teams and external stakeholders, maintaining strong communication and operational excellence at all times.
Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the loading bay, including recording incoming and outgoing deliveries and operating x-ray equipment safely.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and packages; prepare and send outgoing mail using franking machines.
  • Assist with office moves and meeting room setups as required.
  • Handle goods safely using manual handling techniques and equipment such as pallet trucks, trolleys, and skates.
  • Support the transportation of goods, materials, and equipment across floors.
  • Conduct routine equipment checks and report any safety concerns promptly.
  • Ensure proper stacking and storage of goods in designated areas, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Provide ad hoc administrative support to cover staff absence.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to company policies, including compliance with the Data Protection Act.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, clients, tenants, and external contractors.

Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Previous experience in logistics or mailroom operations.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to liaise effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Competence in using online booking systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of safe manual handling techniques and workplace health and safety standards.
