Logistics Operative (training Provided)

Job Description


This is a great opportunity to learn new skills and develop yourself, playing a key role supporting St. Edward\xe2\x80\x99s School with our logistical needs. Previous experience is not essential as training will be provided. You will however need a full driving licence, along with a flexible approach and willingness to carry out a variety of tasks. You will undertake routine logistics work, such as:

  • Driving large (3.5t cat. B) school vehicles and making deliveries and collections as directed
  • Setting up and dismantling school events and functions as directed
  • Clearing out and installing furniture fixtures and fittings
  • Collecting and handling rubbish
  • Occasionally assembling flat pack furniture along with some furniture maintenance
  • Maintenance duties that may involve clearing, cleaning, and painting
You will receive training in PATT testing, Health & Safety, and how to use the maintenance helpdesk system. This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week, 08:00 \xe2\x80\x93 16.30 (with a 30-minute lunch break) any five days from seven. You will work during the school holidays as well as during term time and working hours will include weekdays and weekends. You will also be expected to work occasional overtime, as required, to ensure the smooth running of the school\xe2\x80\x99s facilities.
