Main Purpose of the Role:



The key elements of the Logistics Operative are to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the sites packing processes, ensuring that all goods are supplied when required and meet the required standard for product safety, quality and legality in accordance with company policies and procedures. Whitworth Bros. Flour Mills is a 24/7 operation, capable of running 168 hours/week and producing 224,000 tpa of Wheat Flour, 100,000 tpa of prime Maize products and 10,000 tpa of milled Rice.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:



To efficiently and safely operates all equipment associated with the logistics job role.

To carry out quality control checks, including laboratory testing and FOSSE data input.

Completion of all pre-start, vehicle hygiene and product protection check and documentation.

To carry out maintenance duties as required.

To carry out cleaning duties as per cleaning schedules.

Support the site by transferring finished products to the Bulk Complex for loading.

To support the site by out-loading finished products in emergency situations to ensure customer orders are met in full and on time.

Daily D365 load creation and stock level maintenance.

Carry out stocktaking requirements.

Maintain warehouse stocks in date order whilst loading via D365.

Liaise with the Team Leader, Production Coordinator, Sales and Transport to ensure all loads are correctly supplied.

To maintain a high standard of hygiene in the warehouse and flour packing areas.

To ensure continuous improvement in the logistics operations.

Maintain a flexible approach and carry out any other related duties or cover which may not be specifically identified.

To ensure that all Company procedures are adhered to, and to ensure that all site personnel treat customers, suppliers and other Whitworth Bros employees in a polite and courteous manner.

To ensure the safety of Whitworth Bros personnel, contractors, visitors and members of the public whilst on site. To work with the wider site team to reduce the number of accidents and near misses which occur.

Must be computer literate, numerate and self-motivated.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work equally well alone or within a team. The ability to organise and prioritise workload. The ability to handle varied workload and multitask. Must be self-motivated and willing to help. Good basic knowledge of D365 and department procedures. The individual must possess a flexible and positive attitude.
