Summary of the Logistics Operator role





As the Logistics Operator you will report directly to the Logistics Team Leader and will provide a warehousing service to internal customers, ensuring that all raw materials, intermediates and finished products are received, stored and issued/shipped in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP).




In this role, you will be responsible for managing and controlling all inventories within the warehouse area, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and compliance at every stage. A key part of the role involves overseeing the goods in process, ensuring all quality and safety standards are met during the receipt, loading and unloading of goods.



Your responsibilities





Work in compliance with all Warehouse and associated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Operate Forklift Trucks and other mechanical handling equipment safely in chemical warehouse and associated storage areas as required by the job, checking before use and reporting any defects. Support with the collection and storage waste materials in the designated areas. Preparation of drums ready for checking and packing including the use of the wrapping machine. Loading and unloading vehicles, racking and stacking goods in designated areas, locating materials in accordance with SAP. Perform physical stock checks. Maintain good housekeeping standards in all areas including warehouse, drum parks, solvent storage and other external storage areas. Perform basic corresponding WM movements in SAP. Adhere to required HSE regulations. Labelling of goods in material that has been received. Embodying our company values, which are: be reliable, be caring, be transparent and be willing.




Requirements for the role





Competent in warehouse/despatch activities and procedures. Able to interact with internal customers. Organisational and time management skills. Manage competing work priorities and tasks efficiently and effectively to meet challenging deadlines. Basic understanding in COSHH and Lifting and Handling Regulations. Aware of all health and safety arrangements relating to warehouse operations and the storage and transportation of goods. Understands the need for following cGMP documentation and importance of right first time. Knowledge of cGMP issues particularly in relation to the sampling activities, storage and release of finished goods to customers. Understands the need for documentation and ensures adequate procedures are in place, current and well organised. Thorough understanding of relevant SAP modules.




We also require candidates to be competent with IT systems, and in particular Microsoft Office including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
