As a Hospital Porter at Sodexo in {insert location), you play a key role in the daily running of the hospital, ensuring the safe transportation of patients, as well as equipment, blood products, and gas cylinders. You can also ease some of the stress that is frequently associated with hospitalisation by engaging in professional yet friendly conversations with patients, staff, and visitors. What you\'ll do:

  • Transfer patients in a safe and appropriate manner via means of walking, wheelchair, stretcher, or beds
  • Always conduct yourself professionally, and be aware of patients\' dignity and privacy when it comes to their personal information
  • Give assistance and help with any queries raised by patients and visitors
  • Be a champion of health and safety and use any personal protective equipment provided
  • Assist in the transfer of seriously injured patients from the ambulance/helicopter to the A & E department

Role Responsibility

You will play an integral part in the day to day operation of the Department, ensuring that the collection and storage of all waste streams including hazardous, clinical, domestic wastes

Waste Porters role is to provide collection, transportation and disposal of Healthcare and Domestic waste streams, safely and appropriately segregating in accordance with regulations and to the standards required, whilst delivering an effective and efficient service that meets contractual obligation, KPIs and in accordance with agreed Company and Trust policies, procedures, British Law and Legislation and with a positive and professional demeanour.Collect surplus/waste items from the corridors of the hospital, as directed by the Waste Coordinator, ensuring disposal is in the correct waste stream disposal pathway location within the goods/delivery yard, or as directed.

deal candidates will be hardworking and driven individuals. You will be required to work in teams or alone covering the external grounds and locations of the business. This role also involves general cleaning and litter picking duties. Must be flexible for various shifts

  • Hours:Mainly 06:00-14:00 and 13:00-21:00
