Job Title - PM Shift Manager
Location - Dash Express Exeter, Cullompton Depot, EX15 3DA
Reports to - Operations Manager
Pay - 30,000 to 35,000 per annum
Shift pattern - Monday to Friday. 14:00 to 22:30
Dash Express is a leading logistics provider in the South-West, committed to delivering exceptional service and operational excellence. As PM Shift Manager you will oversee the late shift operations, ensuring smooth handover from the AM team, efficient resource allocation, and compliance with company standards. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll make a real impact on service performance and customer satisfaction.
Position
Duties & Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the PM shift team, including drivers and warehouse operatives, to achieve service targets and KPIs.
Oversee end-of-day operations, including vehicle returns, unloading, reconciliation of non-deliveries, and depot organisation.
Plan and optimise delivery routes.
Conduct driver debriefs, ensuring accurate reporting of issues and completion of HHT reconciliation.
Monitor compliance with health & safety, driver hours regulations, and company policies.
Handle escalations and problem-solving for delivery issues, route disruptions, and customer queries during the shift.
Maintain accurate shift reporting, including performance metrics and incident logs.
Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of drivers and operational staff.
Drive continuous improvement in operational processes and customer service standards.
Collaborate with the Operations Manager to ensure seamless handover between shifts.
Requirements
What We're Looking For
Proven experience in shift management or supervision within logistics, transport, or distribution.
Strong leadership skills.
Excellent organisational and planning ability.
Knowledge of transport compliance, driver regulations, and health & safety standards.
Proficient in IT systems and handheld technology (route planning, HHT).
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A customer-focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence.
