As our Logistics Shift Manager you will play a central role in keeping our Plymouth operation running smoothly - especially during our busiest hours - and we're looking for someone who takes pride in leading a team well and delivering a great service.
What this role is really about:
This isn't just about "managing a shift".
It's about bringing structure, support, and leadership to a fast-moving environment where every decision has a direct impact on our customers and our drivers.
You'll help keep the warehouse floor running efficiently, ensure routes are well planned, and provide the guidance your team needs to deliver safely, on time, and to the standard our customers expect.
What you'll be doing:

• Planning routes so drivers can complete their runs confidently and on schedule.
• Overseeing the warehouse floor to ensure an efficient sort and dispatch.
• Managing driver attendance, support and communication throughout the shift.
• Monitoring service levels and making quick, informed decisions when issues arise.
• Allocating customer collections and ensuring they're completed to the highest standard.
• Supporting people development through coaching and training.
• Maintaining standards around vehicle checks and defect reporting.
• Keeping costs under control and reporting accurately.

You'll be hands-on, visible, and central to how the shift performs.
Requirements
We're looking for someone who:

• Has experience in the parcel or logistics industry.
• Communicates clearly and professionally.
• Can lead, motivate and support a diverse team.
• Enjoys improving processes and managing change.
• Solves problems calmly and confidently, even during busy periods.
• Works collaboratively and takes pride in achieving shared goals.
• Has a strong understanding of how a logistics operation comes together.

Other information
Salary: 30,000 per annum
Hours: Tuesday - Thursday 12:00 -20:00, Friday 12:00 - 17:30, Saturday 04:00 - 16:00
Location: Saltash, PL12 6LX Reporting to: Operations Manager
