Job Description

The Logistics Specialist is a full-time employee of CRFCA and is responsible to the Logistics Manager (Logs Mgr.), through training plans and delivery and the Logistics Manager for the Line Management of all the Logistics Specialists

The post holders' main responsibilities are to support the Logistics Manager in order to assist with the management of the Deployable Accommodation Solution (DAS) and all associated equipment currently located at RAF Little Rissington. There will be a requirement to travel to all deployments as needed and may need to stay on-site for extended periods. The post holder will act as a deputy to the National Logistics Manager to assist with planning, managing logistics, or overseeing broader operations

The position is on an All Hours Worked (AHW) basis working an average of 42 hours per week over a 17-week period (including evenings and weekends on a routine basis as directed by the line manager)

Principal Areas of Accountability, Tasks and Duties:



Assist the Logs Mgr. in all aspects of Equipment Management Responsibility for cover of Logs Mgr. in his absence Update and maintain all Logs records as required to match current stock Organise and monitor all equipment on stock Assist with the booking of transport Deal with day-to-day enquiries. Promote the Logs Team through RAFAC social media accounts using the RAFAC Influence team's platforms Other reasonable tasks as agreed with your line manager commensurate with your grade Be prepared to assist RAFAC Centres Staff as and where required

Stores and Equipment Management



Conduct maintenance of the main stores account and representation of a system of control and co-ordination for the secure storage, receipt, issue and accounting of all DAS and associated equipment, Maintenance of The Special Stores Register Maintain a safe working environment by completing fire checks and other mandatory checks Following all external audit and inspection corrective actions plan developed after all external inspections (Fire, Range, SHEP) Assist in the planning and evaluation of all deployments. Create and implement best practice logistic principles, policies and processes. Support continuous improvement, initiatives and identify inefficiencies Assist with the movement of DAS and associated equipment to numerous locations

Administrative Support



Maintain the National Logistics SharePoint and TEAMs sites to ensure all information is current and correct Assist the volunteer with BADER and the procedures associated with deployments.

Training



Assist in the training of all volunteer members of the Logs Team and be prepared to support Regions.

Deployments



Ensure all personnel using the equipment including vehicles are SQEP according to RAFAC policy/ legislation Manage MT bookings following RAFAC policy/ legislation Where necessary maintain vehicles as per MT guidance/policy and regulation Ensure the equipment register is maintained and updated in line with policy/legislation Ensure maintenance of Logs equipment in line with policy/legislation Organise Accommodation for all deployments

SHEP/ Total Safety



Facilitate inspections Hold the appointment of individual Logs Fire Officer/ Fire Warden when on site. Ensure all activities undertaken at locations have been correctly risk assessed Ensure all users comply with RAFAC Enablement policies Implement RAFAC report system for all accidents and near misses Ensure all users are appropriately briefed

Support to Centre



Be prepared to assist Centre Staff if required Provide on-call for centre users

Additional Requirements



This role will require travel throughout the UK.
