Role Overview





We are seeking an experienced Export/Logistics Specialist to manage global project logistics. The role combines planning and execution, split between quoting new projects (30%) and managing live logistics operations (70%). You will be directly involved with customers, ensuring smooth international deliveries and successful project outcomes.









Key Responsibilities





Develop logistics plans and costings for new projects, providing spot rates and estimates during bids Support sales teams with accurate logistics input and contribute expertise to customer proposals Oversee international and domestic shipments across road, air, and sea freight Manage relationships with 3PLs, freight forwarders, and contract manufacturers Coordinate direct-to-customer deliveries, including time-critical UK site installations (3-5 days) Ensure real-time visibility of shipments and on-time delivery performance Act as the customer-facing contact for logistics matters, providing proactive communication and service Maintain compliance with trade regulations and export documentation requirements Control logistics costs, identify savings, and mitigate operational risks Collaborate with project teams to deliver projects successfully Continuously improve logistics processes and systems




Experience & Qualifications





Minimum 4 years in logistics or operations, ideally project-based Strong international logistics experience, including heavy goods Skilled in working with multiple 3PLs across global routes In-depth knowledge of Incoterms, trade compliance, and export documentation Bachelor's degree, diploma, or equivalent apprenticeship CILT qualification (or studying towards it)




Skills & Qualities





Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency; ERP experience preferred Strong analytical and problem-solving ability Excellent written and verbal communication, including confident customer interaction Highly organised, detail-oriented, and reliable Able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks under pressure Adaptable, proactive, and eager to grow with the business Strong team player with a positive mindset
