Role Overview



We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Logistics Supervisor to oversee and manage all vehicle movement activities within our dealership. This role is critical to ensuring vehicles are delivered to customers on time, collections are carried out efficiently, internal vehicle movements are well controlled, and drivers are effectively assigned and managed.

The successful candidate will act as the central point of coordination between Sales, Workshop, Operations and Drivers, ensuring a smooth and professional end-to-end logistics operation.

Key Responsibilities & Duties



Vehicle Deliveries & Collections



Plan and coordinate vehicle deliveries to customers, ensuring handovers are completed professionally and on time.

Arrange and oversee vehicle collections from customers, dealerships, auctions and other sites.

Ensure delivery and collection documentation is completed accurately.

Act as the main point of contact regarding delivery and collection arrangements.

Internal Vehicle Movements



Manage and coordinate all internal vehicle movements between sites, workshops, MOT centres, and storge locations.

Support vehicle preparation and handover schedules by ensuring vehicles are in the right place at the right time

Maintain accurate vehicle location records and update systems accordingly.

Driver Management & Job Allocation



Allocate daily jobs to drivers, ensuring efficient routing and optimal use of resources.

Manage driver schedules, availability, workload and productivity.

Supervise driver activity throughout the day, responding to changes or delays.

Brief drivers on job requirements, documentation, customer expectations and health & safety procedures.

Monitor driver performance, timekeeping and adherence to company policies.

Ensure drivers hold valid licences and required authorisations.

Operational Control & Compliance



Ensure all vehicle movements comply with road traffic regulations, insurance requirements and company procedures.

Oversee completion and accuracy of delivery notes, condition reports, handover documentation and customer sign-off.

Manage and investigate any vehicle damage, delays or incidents, ensuring issues are resolved promptly.

Maintain high standards of health & safety across all logistic activities.

Communication & Coordination



Liaise closely with Sales, Workshop, Operations and Preparation teams to align logistics activity with business priorities.

Provide updates on vehicle status, deliveries and collections.

Escalate issues to management where required and support resolution.

Reporting and Administration



Maintain accurate records of all vehicle movements, driver assignments and completed jobs.

Produce reports on delivery performance, driver utilisation and logistics efficiency as required.

Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs and enhance customer experience.

Skills and Experience Required



Proven experience in a logistics transport or vehicle movement role (motor trade experience preferred)

Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Experience of managing and coordinating drivers.

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Confident using IT systems, spreadsheets and dealer management systems.

Strong attention to details and problem-solving ability.

Full UK driving licence (essential)
