Job Summary

DB Haulage are looking for an experience Low Loader driver to operate our STGO CAT1 Tractor unit with 3 axle semi trailer. The right candidate will have experience in loading and securing all machines from construction machinery, to access equipment and many other machines from the construction and site work industries.

Duties

Safely operate a lorry to transport goods to designated locations. Load and unload equipment, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent damage, and ensure safety. Collaborate with site/depot staff to ensure all of the correct machinery/equipment/accessories are loaded as per transport orders. Ensure correct security of loads, in line with the legal requirements Maintain accurate paperwork, whether, hand written, app based, or documented transport notes Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while driving and performing duties. Ensure all European drivers hours and working time laws are adhered to, and that tachographs are downloaded when required. Work to the details of a movement order and possibly escort vehicles where needed

Requirements

Valid UK driving licence with appropriate endorsements for operating a lorry. Must be over 25 years of age for insurance purposes Ipaf operators card Provable experience in loading various machinery Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks, (handling of heavy chains for load security) Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in managing loads and documentation. Good communication skills to effectively interact with team members and clients. Load and secure certification preferable, but not essential
The work will be varied and can be a mix of local day hire work to long distance tramping, meaning the right candidate must be flexible with hours worked, and may need nights away to fulfil the role.

Pay: 18.00-22.00 per hour
