Job Description

As a member of the Site Management Team, lead and manage the Low Care operation, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of all activities across Goods In, production ingredient preparation, chilled and frozen ingredient storage, and Goods Out picking and packing. Drive a strong health and safety culture, effective labor planning, and continuous improvement to deliver operational excellence in support of production requirements.

Key Responsibilities:



Lead the Low Care operation, providing day-to-day management of Goods In, ingredient preparation, chilled and frozen storage, and Goods Out picking and packing activities. Champion health and safety, ensuring all operations comply with legal requirements, site policies, and best practice, and promoting a proactive safety-first culture.

Ensure labour is correctly planned and deployed, with appropriate cover, skills, and shift start times aligned to production schedules and business demand.

Maintain high standards of stock control, ensuring accurate unit of measure (UoM), inventory integrity, and system accuracy across all Low Care areas. Ensure storage accuracy, including correct location control, stock rotation, segregation, and temperature compliance within chilled and frozen environments. Manage and adjust staffing levels to ensure materials, ingredients, and finished goods are available to production on time and in full.

Ensure full compliance with food safety, quality, and hygiene standards within a Low Care manufacturing environment. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, accuracy, service levels, and cost performance. Lead, develop, and performance-manage teams through effective communication, training, and coaching. Optimize labour, equipment, and storage capacity to meet operational and production needs.

Monitor operational KPIs, including stock accuracy, pick accuracy, and service levels, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions. Work collaboratively with other Site Management Team members to support overall site objectives and continuous improvement programs. Deliver departmental operational goals and objectives, implementing effective methods and procedures to improve performance.

Lead, manage, and develop the team through clear direction, coaching, and empowerment, using formal people management processes where required.

Take full accountability for departmental KPIs, translating strategic and financial goals into clear team and individual objectives.

Drive cost control and waste reduction, eliminating non-value-adding activity and unnecessary spend. Lead daily operational meetings with a strong focus on health & safety, performance, and continuous improvement.

Monitor departmental costs against budget and forecast, ensuring financial control remains a core KPI. Maintain high service levels to internal and external customers, promoting positive working relationships across the business.

Promote a collaborative, positive working environment, proactively preventing conflict and strengthening teamwork.

Competent in all aspects of the efficient and cost-effective operation of a manufacturing facility. -Competent at People Management with a proven ability to develop and motivate direct reports ensuring maximum performance output is achieved by managing through people processes and policies.

Competent and knowledgeable in quality systems and procedures.

Good PC skills and related software applications (MS Office), with the ability to gather and manipulate data, compile information, and prepare reports.

Ability to implement and lead continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a continuous improvement culture within the department.

Skilled in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures. Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals.

Pay: 42,000.00-50,000.00 per year
