Are you friendly, reliable and enjoy working with children? Our welcoming primary school is looking for two Lunch Break Supervisors to help maintain a safe, happy and inclusive environment during lunchtime.
Timings:
This is term-time only position
Monday - Friday 12.00 - 1.00
Duties
Supervise pupils in designated areas of the school (including playground and/or lunch hall)
Establish a safe environment for pupils to eat and play
Support behaviour through the schools policies and referral to senior staff as needed
Supervise the safe movement of pupils to and from dining areas, including handwashing
Maintain good order in dining areas including the supervision of pupils eating and/or in the playground
To assist pupils, where necessary, with the collection and return of trays, opening items of food and cleaning of hazards (spills)
To assist and guide pupils , as necessary, with correct use of cutlery, drinking facilities or other aspects of midday meals
To assist in the setting up and removal of furniture outside of the dining area, where necessary.
To take any immediate action to attend to sickness or accidents by carrying out minor first aid and summoning relevant assistance.
To identify and report any unauthorised visitors on school premises.
To complete any documentation required by the school in relation to incidents occurring during the lunchtime break period and to participate in review meetings, as required.
The postholder will be expected to act as an adult role model and support school policies when dealing with students or visitors to the school.
Requirements
A DBS will be requested prior to starting in role
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work within our school team
Ability to engage positively with children
Clearing all safeguarding and working with children screening
