Job Description

Pennies Day Nurseries at Mark Cross require a Lunch Cover (all year round) to care and occupy the children during Nursery Practitoner lunch breaks Monday to Friday.

The hours are 2.5hrs per a day (12.5hrs a week) worked Monday to Friday. Possible additional hours are likely to be available from time to time.

Summary



In the role of Lunch Cover, you will be essential in supporting the smooth operation of our lunchtime period. Reporting to the Nursery Manager, your primary responsibilities will include supervising children during lunch, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment, and assisting with meal service. Pennies expects you to demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills while fostering a positive atmosphere. Your ability to manage time effectively and engage with children will be crucial in maintaining order and enhancing their lunchtime experience. Responsibilities



Supervise and engage with children during lunch periods to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment. Assist in the distribution of meals and monitor dietary restrictions. Address any conflicts or behavioural issues that arise among children. Collaborate with nursery staff to maintain cleanliness and organisation during the lunch time period. Support children in developing social skills and encourage positive interactions. Report any concerns regarding student welfare to appropriate Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Qualifications



Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with children and staff. Ability to manage groups of children and maintain a safe and positive environment. Experience in a nursery or childcare setting is preferred. Basic first aid and CPR certification is a plus. Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations during lunch periods.

Pay: 12.21 per hour
