Lunchtime Assistant / Part Time Hours

Hours:

Monday to Friday from 11am - 2:30pm.
Flexible working days and hours can be negotiated.

Starting from 13.50ph

We are recruiting Lunchtime Assistants in our Craiglockhart EH14 1LT setting.

Job Role:

We are looking for a Lunchtime Assistant to support our children and staff during lunch and sleep time. This role involves creating a calm, unhurried, enjoyable mealtime experience for all. Our staff encourage the children to eat well, interact, whilst promoting independence and self-serving.

This role may be suitable for a Qualified Early Years Practitioner looking for reduced hours or hours that may suit family life / school pick up and drop off.

You will be part of a supportive and caring team, dedicated to ensuring the children feel safe, happy, and cared for throughout their mealtime.

Key Responsibilities:

Engaging and monitoring children aged 4 months to 5 years, throughout mealtimes.

Encouraging children to eat a variety of food and promote good table manners.

Promoting self-serving, independence and interaction with peers throughout the meal.

Ensuring you are up to date with all guidance, particularly Setting the Table and Food Matters. This includes all children's care plans, allergies, medical conditions and intolerances.

Engaging in learning experiences after lunch time or supporting staff to put the younger children to sleep for their afternoon nap.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have experience working with young children and a caring, patient nature. A genuine passion for supporting early childhood development is essential. The ability to interact positively with children and encourage social skills through play is highly desirable.

SVQ/HNC Early Years qualification is not necessary

; however, the candidate must complete training necessary for the job role, require a full PVG check from Disclosure Scotland, register with Scottish Social Services Council and have two satisfactory references.

Pay: From 13.00 per hour
