We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Lunchtime Assistant to support our educational environment. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about early childhood education and child development. The Lunchtime Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring a safe, engaging, and nurturing lunchtime experience for children. This position offers an opportunity to contribute positively to children's daily routines while fostering their social and emotional growth.
Responsibilities
Supervise children during lunchtime, ensuring safety and proper behaviour
Assist with meal distribution and help children with eating as needed, including those with allergies and preferred diets
Engage children in positive social interactions and promote good manners
Support practitioners by maintaining a calm and organised environment during lunch periods
Implement behavior management strategies to encourage respectful conduct
Assist with clean-up activities after lunch, including washing, drying, sweeping, sanitation of tables and common areas
Observe and report any concerns related to children's well-being or behaviour to appropriate staff members
Requirements
Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or private school settings is preferred
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children and staff
Ability to work well with diverse groups of children, including those requiring special accommodations
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's growth and learning
Must be able to work during designated lunchtime hours, 11.30am - 1.30pm, in a safe and supportive manner
