We are looking for someone with a natural ability to build positive relationships with children, who has a warm and approachable manner, and who can remain calm and efficient under pressure.
Main responsibilities include:
Encouraging and promoting positive behaviour in the playground and in the dining hall at lunchtime
Supervising and ensuring the safety of pupils during playtimes and transitions
Checking the safety of playground equipment
Escorting children to the First Aider when necessary
Person specification:
A genuine interest in working with children (previous school experience desirable but not essential)
A friendly, caring and approachable disposition
The ability to work well within a team and contribute positively to school life
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the DBS.
The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are 'spent' unless they are 'protected' under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
