Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic lunchtime support staff to join our team. This role is essential in providing a safe and nurturing environment for children between 11:30 and 14:30 each day. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children (aged 1-5) and possess strong communication skills, to share information with the wider staff team and to ensure that all children feel supported and valued during this important part of their day. Awareness of allergies is essential and training will be provided.

Duties

Supervise children during lunchtime, ensuring their safety and well-being. Assist children with their meals, promoting healthy eating habits. Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere where all children feel comfortable. Communicate effectively with children, encouraging them to express themselves. Facilitate play activities that children find engaging. Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a smooth lunchtime routine. Address any issues or concerns that may arise during the cover period.

Requirements

Previous experience working with children is essential. Background in childcare or early childhood education is highly desirable. Strong leadership skills to effectively manage groups of children. Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing. A genuine passion for supporting children's development and well-being. Capability to drive initiatives that promote a positive experience. Experience in a nursery setting is an advantage but not mandatory.
