Job Overview


We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled

Lymphatic Drainage Post-Operative Care Specialist

to join our advanced aesthetic and post-surgical recovery clinic in London. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manual lymphatic drainage (MLD), post-operative patient care, and recovery management for cosmetic and surgical procedures. This role involves supporting patients through their healing journey, reducing swelling, improving comfort, and ensuring safe, effective recovery outcomes.
This is a paid clinical role suitable for professionals dedicated to excellence in post-operative therapy and patient wellbeing.

Duties



Perform specialised

manual lymphatic drainage (MLD)

for patients recovering from cosmetic and surgical procedures such as liposuction, tummy tucks, BBL, facelifts, and body contouring surgeries. Conduct comprehensive post-operative assessments and develop personalised treatment plans based on patient needs and surgical protocols. Provide aftercare guidance, including wound care support, compression garment education, and recovery best practices. Monitor and document postoperative progress, identifying potential complications such as seromas, fibrosis, or abnormal swelling, and escalating concerns to medical staff when necessary. Deliver additional evidence-based recovery treatments (e.g., LED therapy, ultrasound cavitation for fibrosis, cold therapy) when appropriate and within scope of practice. Educate patients on optimal recovery routines, mobility recommendations, hydration, and lifestyle habits that promote healthy healing. Maintain accurate and compliant clinical notes, treatment records, and patient progress documentation. Collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and aesthetic practitioners to ensure continuity of care and patient safety. Stay updated on the latest advancements in post-operative care, lymphatic drainage techniques, and recovery protocols.

Experience



Certification or formal training in

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)

or post-operative therapy (Vodder, Foldi, or equivalent recognised methods preferred). Experience working with post-surgical or aesthetic patients in a medical, physiotherapy, or clinical wellness environment. Strong understanding of lymphatic anatomy, post-operative healing physiology, and risk factors associated with aesthetic surgeries. Excellent ability to identify complications early and work collaboratively with medical teams. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a calm, reassuring patient-focused approach. High level of organisation, professionalism, and attention to clinical detail. Commitment to safety, ethical practice, and maintaining high standards of patient care. Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary clinical environment.
