Avondale Environmental is a vegetation/highway management and agricultural contractors working 24/7 for clients across a range of sectors including highways, utilities, rail, construction, and local authorities. We are innovative by nature, and our mechanised vegetation/highways solutions are leading the way in various industries.

We are currently seeking a flexible and committed Machine Operator to carry out tunnel washes using our specialised plant (Unimog) at a variety of tunnel locations across the UK such as London, Liverpool, Wales etc.

Due to the nature of tunnel operations, this is predominantly a night shift role. However, when tunnel work is not scheduled, day shifts may be available at our yard, therefore, flexibility is essential.

This is a zero-hours contract position. Shifts will be offered depending on project requirements, and there is no guarantee of regular hours. Typical shift hours are between 20:00 to 04:00

The Role:

To carry out maintenance checks prior to each use and prepare the plant

To complete post use checks and maintenance

To transport plant to and from site

To carry out machine operating duties effectively and safely

Liaising with clients whilst on site

To complete all necessary site paperwork in electronic or paper formats

To deliver and collect plant from our suppliers

Requirements:

A full clean driving license (essential)

CPCS/CSCS or an equivalent nationally recognised competence

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Self-motivated, professional, team-oriented, and customer-focused

Identity verification/UK right to work check.
