Job Description

We are now seeking to employ an additional Machine Operator for our Tape Production Department on our nightshift. Based in Southfield Industrial Estate, Glenrothes, the successful candidate will initially be trained on dayshift (approximate 2 months) and will receive training in how to operate our Tapemaking Machines before being placed on a permanent nightshift.

It is preferred that applicants have previous production and machinery experience however full training will be given. Applicants should have excellent troubleshooting skills and an eye for fine detail. Accuracy is vital to allow the calculation of customer requirements, complete relevant paperwork and to take responsibility for their own quality of work. This role involves PC use on our bespoke ERP system for data entry. Reporting to the Tape Production & Development Manager, The Machine Operator role includes:

ensuring Carrier Tape is manufactured to the specified tolerances ensuring quality of finished products, meeting set targets with regards to quality, quantity, and timescales given effectively report any issues with machines in the production logs and complete all paperwork make up finished product reels to load produced carrier tape on operation of the Laser Inspection System(s) to complete inspection of all manufactured Carrier Tape produced. responsible for leaving the production area clean and tidy for the next shift adhering to best health and safety practices at all times
A comprehensive training plan will be included as part of this position which will be provided by our Supervisors. During the training/probation period (minimum of 2 months) training will be carried out during dayshift hours.

Additional Details: -

Nightshift hours - 30 hours per week. Sunday to Thursday 12pm - 6am. Training (dayshift) - 40 hours per week 8am-5pm Mon-Thu, 8am -2pm Friday. 12.21 + a third shift allowance once nightshift commences. 25K+ per annum Pension provided by AEGON above minimum government contribution.
