Job Description

Howdens are looking for a Machine Operator to join our team at Howden to safely manufacture a range of finished profiles to the correct quality specification. In this role you will work with all or a combination of the following equipment: main saw, moulder, sander, vacuum storm coater, main oven and de-nibber.



To be successful in this role, you must have proven experience as a Machine Operator in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, along with a strong understanding of workplace Health & Safety practices and a commitment to maintaining high quality standards.

Shift Pattern:

12 hour rotating shifts (consisting of 4 days and 3 nights with 3 days every third week)

The role:

Performing machine pre use safety checks and setting up the machine in the allocated time frame using the specific SOP Continuous monitoring of the machine during production Performing detailed process quality checks in accordance with the area SOP and in line with the published control plans and gauges provided Weekly autonomous and preventative maintenance Performing minor adjustments when required and ensuring the area is maintained to the agreed housekeeping standards Work to drawing specifications in order to produce products accurately and to the correct quality standards

What we're looking for:

Production or manufacturing experience working in a fast-paced factory environment Ability to read and understand manual handling risk assessments FLT experience is preferred but not essential as full training will be given Diagnostic and problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement approach to continually seek ways to improve our processes
