We have an opportunity for someone to join our team in an exciting brand new role as Machine Setter Team Leader. This is a hands on role, working alongside our Machine Setters but supporting with the smooth running of the production line and productivity, working closely with our Production & Engineering Teams.
As such, the role requires someone with Machine Setting experience, experience with manual handling, health & safety awareness and due to the demands of the role, this is a physically demanding role and therefore you must be physically fit and able to stand for long periods of time.
15.29 per hour with the opportunity to join the Company discretionary bonus scheme after the required qualifying period.
You will be working a rota pattern:
Monday to Thursday 6:30am to 3:30pm with a 20 minute paid break and a 45 minute unpaid break, and Friday 6am to 12 noon with no entitlement to any breaks equating to 39 hours per week and;
Monday to Thursday 9:00am to 6:00pm with a 20 minute paid break and a 45 minute unpaid break, and Friday 6am to 12 noon with no entitlement to any breaks equating to 39 hours per week
Holiday entitlement is 25 days plus Bank Holidays.
Main Duties Include but not limited to:
Oversee and support the Machine Setters, whilst undertaking the setting of machinery also.
Set daily requirements against production schedules, assigning responsibilities and allocation of work / tasks as required.
Ensuring the completion daily set up of production machinery for different products as per the weekly production schedule.
Identifying any delays in daily set ups or delays in resetting the production lines to ensure minimum disruption and delays within Production.
Perform and document daily checks/tasks of production equipment.
Respond to calls through the internal 2 way radio system in a timely manner as and when required, follow up with communications to ensure the team are updated with information.
Support the line operators to achieve set line speeds and balancing the process for efficiencies.
Complete tasks on the Machine Setter job sheet in order of priority and ensuring the same of your team members.
Attend scheduled meetings with the production team to discuss monthly manufacturing downtime, OEE performance, KPI and contribute to continuous improvement of the department / business.
Work to standards set to ensure quality and food safety of products are maintained.
Ensure Health and Safety is adhered to at all times and advocating accordingly.
Support and train staff on procedures as and when necessary, ensuring their understanding.
Ensure that the machinery has been shut down correctly at the end of the production day.
Assist in maintaining the correct stock level of parts required to ensure optimum performance is achieved.
Operate production lines and data inputting if and when require.
Perform an active role in team appraisal and reviews to performance and provide constructive feedback.
Personal Specification:
Minimum of 2 years' relevant machine setting experience with associated tools.
Minimum of 1 years' experience in a Team Leader / Supervisory position.
Good level of education GCSE Grade C or above, in English and Mathematics
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to highlight areas of for continuous improvement.
With an ability to multi task and drive to meet deadlines.
Excellent communicator at all levels and by all means of communication.
Must be solution driven and remain calm under pressure.
Confident to provide training in processes and procedures.
Ability to lead a team, demonstrate people skills and able to adapt to the target audience.
Professional approach, coupled with strong interpersonal skills.
Have a flexible and agile way of working with a "can do attitude".
Knowledge or understanding of BRC and HACCAP and working within the food industry.
Demonstrates accountability and taking responsibility, working with integrity and honesty, is inquisitive and questioning, and is approachable and supportive.
Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate must be fluent in English and have the Right to Work in the UK.
