Job Description

We're recruiting a Machining Centre Operative to operate medium horizontal, multi pallet CNC milling machines to meet production requirements. Reporting to the Shift Leader, you'll work safely, accurately and efficiently to deliver right first time quality, supporting the machine shop and wider production teams.




What you'll be doing






Operate CNC milling machines/work centres in line with safe working practices. Produce components to engineering drawings and specifications, meeting required quality standards. Edit and modify CNC programs as required. Record all work accurately in the shop floor computer system. Work to planned production requirements and standard hours. Use a wide range of measuring equipment; carry out planned inspections and record results. Select the correct drawings and calibrated inspection equipment. Collaborate with production control, engineering, maintenance and quality teams. Support the training of apprentices and trainees.

Who we're looking for







If you are time served (or hold equivalent engineering qualifications) and have solid experience in CNC machining$uparticularly milling$uwe&d love to hear from you!





Experience with CNC mill/turn machinery and 5 axis machining is highly advantageous.





You will be able to confidently read and interpret complex engineering drawings, ensuring accuracy in every task. You should be competent in self inspection, using a variety of calibrated measuring instruments to maintain the highest standards of quality.





We ask that you have strong communication skills and work just as well independently as you do within a team. We also ask that you are highly motivated, adaptable, and bring a positive attitude to your work. Flexibility and a willingness to contribute to the overall success of the department are also important qualities you possess.





To apply for this role, you should hold an NVQ (or equivalent qualification) in an engineering discipline and have completed an engineering apprenticeship or have equivalent practical experience.
