Due to increased demand we are recruting for additional Machinitsts to join our team at our site in Livingston. Reporting to the Machine Shop Manager, responsibilities will be as follows:
To work on job assignments as allocated and ensure you have the necessary tooling and drawings required for the job.
To interpret drawings and process sheets to determine machining and set-up required.
To complete required documentation correctly.
To undertake programming and proving out of components.
To carry out machine capability calculations
To use precision measuring instruments to set-up and machine work to required tolerances.
To ensure customer specifications are achieved e.g. check dimensions against process sheets, blueprints or sketches
To undertake 100% inspection
To stamp and record heat code, serial numbers or other required numbers that have been removed in the machining process.
To develop efficient workings processes and seek ways to continuously improve all aspects of your own job.
To work to established process methods, reporting any deviations and correcting these as necessary.
To apply fault finding and problem solving skills relating to manufacture and equipment failure to continually improve processes.
To participate on continuous improvement activities including 6S.
To balance and plan your workload in order to achieve the best quality and performance standards.
To identify own training needs with the Machine Shop Manager and assist with training others once competent.
To assist with the successful introduction of new/modified parts and processes.
To undertake first line maintenance checks on plant and equipment.
To work with and maintain good relationships with teams outside your work area, and assist the maintenance function with tasks as required during short periods of downtime.
To apply fault finding and problem solving skills relating to manufacture and equipment failure to continually improve processes.
