Job Description

The Breast Care Clinical Nurse Specialist will be responsible for the provision and development of a high quality, cost effective specialist Breast Care nursing service that meets the needs of patients in accordance with national and local policies and initiatives. Assess, treat and review patients with a diagnosis of Breast cancer providing appropriate disease related highly specialist advice, information and support and promote health education. The post holder will be expected to carry out specialist nursing and clinical procedures and refer patients appropriately and timely to other service providers. Act as a link between primary, secondary and tertiary care, assist in the development and delivery of staff education programmes, ongoing advice and clinical supervision to other health professionals.

Accept referrals from other health care professionals; work unsupervised and manage their own clinics.
