Overview
Are you practical, hands-on, and enjoy keeping things running smoothly? Do you care about safety and love working outdoors? We're looking for a friendly, reliable Maintenance & Health & Safety Technician to join our Outdoor Education team! This dual-role position combines maintenance responsibilities with health & safety oversight to ensure our outdoor sites are safe and equipment is in top shape.
Your Role
As our Maintenance & Health & Safety Technician, you will:
Keep tools, machinery, and equipment in excellent condition and stored safely.
Carry out routine maintenance, repairs, and grounds work.
Conduct regular safety inspections and implement health & safety policies.
Support risk assessments, operational documents, and safe working practices.
Diagnose equipment faults and perform mechanical, electrical, or plumbing repairs.
Assist with installations, refurbishments, and equipment upgrades.
Maintain accurate logs and reports of maintenance tasks.
Work closely with colleagues to keep everything running smoothly.
Other Responsibilities
Record and justify all petty cash and credit card expenditures, keeping receipts for every transaction.
Maintain accurate records of company vehicle usage and adhere to safe driving practices.
Use Releasing Potential equipment responsibly, return items to the correct location, and promptly report and log any damage.
Commitment to Safeguarding Children
All staff must follow safeguarding policies, attend regular training, report concerns to the DSL immediately if serious, ensure children's safety, stay informed on live issues, and support colleagues in maintaining up-to-date safeguarding knowledge.
