About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and skilled
Maintenance and Installation Engineer
to join our growing team. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and servicing of a variety of water features, including splash pads, fountains, irrigation systems, and decorative water elements.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with experience in water systems and a solid understanding of mechanical and/or electrical components. Knowledge of UK water legislation, including water hygiene and safety standards, is highly beneficial.
Key Responsibilities
Install, service, and maintain a range of water features and systems, including filtration and irrigation setups.
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure systems operate safely and efficiently.
Diagnose and resolve faults across water systems, including mechanical and electrical components.
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manufacturer manuals.
Monitor and adjust water flow, treatment, and filtration systems, ensuring compliance with relevant safety regulations.
Keep accurate maintenance records, service reports, and performance data logs.
Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery.
Support testing, commissioning, and handovers of new installations.
Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in clean and operational condition.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
Practical experience with water features, irrigation systems, or aquatic facilities (preferably in commercial or public settings).
Familiarity with UK water safety standards (e.g., Legionella control, WRAS guidelines).
Understanding of mechanical and/or electrical systems, including pumps, filters, and control panels.
Ability to read technical drawings and system schematics.
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Good communication, teamwork, and organisational abilities.
Full UK driving licence.
Flexibility to travel to sites across the UK and stay overnight when necessary.
Desirable:
Certification in water hygiene or Legionella awareness.
Mechanical or electrical qualifications (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC/HND).
CSCS card or equivalent health & safety certification.
