We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team. Duties

Assist in the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical systems across the site. Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams to carry out repairs effectively. Support in the installation and calibration of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to optimise operational processes. Perform welding tasks as required, adhering to safety standards and quality procedures. Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify potential issues before they escalate. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. Collaborate with senior technicians and supervisors to coordinate maintenance schedules and projects. Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests from other departments. Supervise junior team members when necessary, demonstrating leadership and organisational skills.

Qualifications

Proven experience with electrical systems, mechanical knowledge, and general maintenance tasks. Familiarity with schematics, wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting electrical circuits. Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is highly desirable. Competence in welding techniques and safety procedures. Strong organisational skills with the ability to supervise or lead a team effectively. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Previous supervisory or leadership experience is advantageous. Customer service orientation with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in electrical or mechanical fields are preferred.
