Position Summary - Part-Time Maintenance Person (Monday to Friday, 9am-2pm)

We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced

Part-Time Maintenance Person

to join our team at The Spinney Care Home. In this vital role, you will help ensure the home remains safe, well-maintained, and welcoming for our residents and staff.

Working hours:

Monday to Friday,

9:00am - 2:00pm

Starting pay:

12.50 per hour (increases to 13.00 after successful 3-month probation period)

Key Responsibilities

Carry out day-to-day maintenance and minor repairs across the building and equipment. Conduct regular checks and inspections to identify maintenance needs and health & safety issues. Liaise with external contractors for specialist work when necessary. Maintain accurate records of completed tasks, inspections, and repairs. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff or residents. Support with the setup or installation of new equipment as needed. Keep maintenance tools, equipment, and storage areas clean and organised. Attend relevant training and stay updated on health, safety, and compliance requirements.

What We're Looking For

Proven experience in a maintenance or handyman role, ideally within a care home or similar setting. Strong general maintenance skills - including basic electrical, plumbing, and mechanical work. Relevant trade qualifications or certifications are a plus. A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to prioritise tasks. Good communication and problem-solving skills. Understanding of health & safety regulations and a commitment to safe working practices.
