We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Hoveringham team in the position of Maintenance Electrician.
The Maintenance Electrician will be responsible for the safe electrical maintenance; repair or replacement of plant equipment and systems, for ensuring so far as is reasonably practicable that plant & equipment remains operational, and for ensuring that all plant & equipment is serviced in accordance with the sites planned preventative maintenance schedules.
Your contractual hours will be Monday- Friday 8-hour shifts across a three-shift pattern (days/nights/afters).
You will be expected to work additional hours across the week or at weekends to ensure the site plant & equipment is maintained to a reliable standard, when required.
Overtime rates are x1.5 Monday to Saturday, x2 on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
Your duties would include but not limited to the following;
As part of a small team, you will need to work on your own initiative, taking decisions as the need arises. This will include electrical repairs and some basic mechanical operator roles (provided competently and authorized).
It will be part of your function to understand the systems operation, its components, and be able to diagnose faults and repair them.
To achieve this, you may be required to attend training in some specialist areas.
Ensure that all maintenance tasks are completed to high standards to protect the company assets.
Complete planned preventative maintenance schedules and ensure where possible that the manufacturer's guidance maintenance procedures are followed.
Ensuring that a safe standard of housekeeping is always maintained (adopting a clean as you go policy).
Carry out periodic plant & equipment inspections according to current legislation.
Compliance with all Health Safety and Environmental Regulations.
To advise the appropriate manager immediately of any mechanical defects discovered.
Ensure that PPE is issued, is kept, and maintained in good condition.
Other duties as delegated by management.
To assist in working weekends on a rotation basis particularly during busy periods resulting in weekend manufacturing.
Shadowing of a current site engineer will be undertaken at the start of your employment to allow for familiarisation of the site.
You will be required to attend specific training courses to allow you to complete your tasks.
About You;
Previous experience of working as part of a team.
Experience of working in a heavy industry factory environment would be advantageous.
The successful candidate will be flexible in their approach and be able to work on their own initiative when called upon.
A positive attitude towards Health & Safety is essential.
Knowledge of LOTOTO isolation an advantage.
Ideally trained to IOSH Managing Safety standards.
IPAF advantageous (3A/3B).
FLT up to 5T counter-balance advantageous.
Time served qualification in an Electrical Engineering discipline e.g., apprenticeship
Minimum qualification level is NVQ level 3. minimum 17th edition regs. required
City and Guilds Level 3 / BTEC or equivalent
BS7671 - 17th Edition or later
Ability to work at heights essential.
Driving license and a means of transport essential, to enable you to fulfill the job requirements.
A basic set of tools is required, to allow you to complete your daily tasks.
