Here's What You Can Expect to be Doing
Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all electrical maintenance tasks falling under the responsibility of James Hall & Co. Ltd. are completed efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with Health & Safety regulations and Food Hygiene standards.
You will work across various electrical systems, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum operational efficiency, and will become part of the company's Emergency On-Call service, supporting business continuity outside standard hours when required.
Carrying out reactive maintenance to address electrical faults or breakdowns quickly and effectively.
Completing planned and preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks to ensure systems operate at peak performance and to reduce the risk of unexpected failures.
Working across domestic, commercial, and industrial electrical systems within our distribution portfolio, including lighting, power systems, control panels, and equipment wiring.
Conducting electrical inspections and testing in line with current regulations to maintain compliance and ensure the safety of our facilities.
Keeping detailed records of all works undertaken, including job sheets and maintenance logs, using Microsoft Office 365 tools.
Collaborating closely with the wider Maintenance Department and site colleagues to ensure that all works are coordinated and communicated effectively.
Participating in the Emergency On-Call rota to provide out-of-hours support in the event of urgent electrical issues or emergencies.
A Few Things About You
Demonstrate honesty, punctuality, and a strong commitment to your role.
Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with colleagues, suppliers, and contractors.
Be comfortable using basic IT systems (including Microsoft Office 365) for reporting, documentation, and communication.
Show strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads effectively under pressure.
Hold a valid, clean UK driving licence -- travel between sites may occasionally be required.
Hold a NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or a City & Guilds qualification.
Hold a current BS7671 Wiring Regulations (18th Edition) certificate.
Hold a current Inspection and Testing 2391 certificate.
Be experienced and conversant with working on domestic, commercial, and industrial electrical systems.
Have a flexible approach to working times, including participation in the on-call rota and occasional out-of-hours work.
